Vixxi Civics — Privacy Policy
Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Information We Use
Most study settings and progress are stored on your device. Depending on the features you choose, the app may use:
- Study and preference data: answers, progress, mastery, streaks, language, test type, reminder preferences, birth year, and permanent-residency duration. These personalize the study experience and age-based test accommodations.
- Location: your approximate location, or the state and congressional district you select manually, to identify relevant public officials. Location access is optional and is not used for continuous tracking.
- Voice and speech: if you use pronunciation or speaking practice, the app accesses the microphone and speech-recognition service to transcribe your reading and provide feedback. The feature is optional; the app does not publish your recordings.
- Photos you choose: if you attach a screenshot or image to a feedback report, that selected image and report content are sent to our support service so we can investigate the issue. The app does not access your camera.
- Community, feedback, and AI content: a nickname, posts, comments, feedback, and messages you choose to send to Vixxi are transmitted to our services to provide those features, moderate community content, and respond to you.
- Usage and diagnostic events: the app may send feature-use, question-result, and error events to help us improve reliability and learning tools. Events use an ephemeral session identifier rather than a persistent app account identifier.
Advertising and Purchases
Unless you purchase ad removal, Vixxi Civics may show ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google may process device information, advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, ad interactions, and fraud-prevention data to deliver and measure ads. Where required, the app presents consent choices; on iPhone and iPad you can allow or deny tracking, and you can update choices in device or app settings. See Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Purchases, including ad removal, are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
How We Use and Share Information
We use information to provide personalized study, local official information, speaking practice, community and feedback features, AI assistance, technical support, safety and moderation, analytics, and advertising where applicable. We share information only with service providers needed to operate those features, such as hosting and API providers, speech-recognition providers, Google AdMob, and Apple or Google for in-app purchases. We do not sell personal information for money.
Data Storage and Retention
Core progress and settings are stored locally on your device. Content you submit to community, feedback, AI, or other online features may be retained on our services for as long as needed to provide the feature, maintain security, resolve support requests, and comply with law. You can clear local app data through Settings or uninstall the app. Clearing local data does not automatically remove content you previously submitted to an online feature.
Your Choices and Rights
- Permissions: you can deny or revoke location, microphone, speech-recognition, photo-library, and tracking permissions in device Settings. Some features will not work without the corresponding optional permission.
- Analytics and ads: you can change analytics and ad-privacy choices in the app where provided, reset or limit your advertising identifier in device settings, and purchase ad removal to stop ordinary ad requests.
- Access, correction, deletion, and opt-out: depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or limits on the processing or sharing of information associated with online features. Contact us using the details below.
Children's Privacy
Vixxi Civics is designed for people preparing for U.S. citizenship, generally adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. The date above identifies the most recent revision.
