Vixxi Driver — Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 26, 2026

Introduction

Vixxi Driver ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. The same policy is available inside the app under Settings > About > Privacy Policy, in English, Vietnamese and Spanish.

Information We Collect

  • Study progress and quiz scores: stored locally on your device.
  • App preferences: theme, language and font size, stored locally on your device.
  • Device identifier: on Android, the Android ID assigned to this app on your device; on iPhone and iPad, a random ID created by the app and kept in your device's Keychain. It is not your advertising identifier, and we never use it for advertising or share it with advertisers. We use it to follow up on feedback you send, to apply the AI Tutor daily message limit, and to link a verified Remove Ads purchase to your device.
  • Feedback and bug reports: submitted voluntarily, and may include a screenshot and device info (OS version, app version).
  • AI Tutor messages: only if you use the AI Tutor. The messages in that conversation, together with your selected state, vehicle type and app language, are sent to generate a reply (see Third-Party Services). Please do not include personal information in your messages. To apply the daily message limit, our server keeps a count of AI Tutor messages per device identifier and per network (IP) address; these are stored only in hashed form and expire automatically after about two days.
  • Advertising data: only while ads are shown (not after you buy Remove Ads). The Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) collects device and usage information to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud. This can include your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, ad interactions, and your device's advertising identifier (on iPhone and iPad, only if you allow tracking when asked). Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings > Ad Privacy Choices.
  • Purchases: if you buy Remove Ads, payment is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details. The store's proof of purchase is sent to our server together with the device identifier so the higher AI Tutor limit can be applied. The server checks that it is genuine and keeps only a record of the verified purchase: the store's transaction or order ID, the product, the platform, and the device identifier in hashed form.

Information We DO NOT Collect

We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, precise (GPS) location, contacts or payment details. We do not sell your personal information for money. Some US state privacy laws treat personalized advertising as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; see Your Choices and Rights to opt out.

Data Storage

All study data and preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and SecureStore. We do not upload your study progress to any server. Feedback reports are sent to our server and stored securely.

Permissions

  • Photo library: requested only when you choose to attach a screenshot to a feedback report. The app never browses your library on its own.
  • Notifications: optional, and used only for the study reminders and exam-day countdown you turn on yourself.
  • Tracking (iPhone and iPad): the app asks, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether ads may use your device's advertising identifier. If you decline, you still see ads, but they are not based on activity in other companies' apps and websites. The prompt is never shown after you buy Remove Ads.
  • Advertising ID (Android): the app declares Google's advertising ID permission so AdMob can read the identifier while ads are shown. You can delete or reset it in your device settings (see Your Choices and Rights).

Third-Party Services

The app uses Expo services for push notifications and over-the-air updates. These services may collect anonymous usage data as described in Expo's privacy policy.

Unless you buy Remove Ads, the app shows ads through Google AdMob, which processes data as described in Google's privacy policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Ads are limited to content rated PG or lower. Buying Remove Ads stops all ad requests.

In-app purchases are processed by Apple or Google.

When you use the AI Tutor, your conversation is sent to our server and processed by Google's Gemini AI service to generate a reply, subject to Google's terms for that service. The AI Tutor is optional; the rest of the app works without it.

The app downloads its settings from GitHub (github.com) and study content from our server; as with any website, these requests include standard information such as your IP address.

Data Retention

  • Study progress and preferences stay on your device until you uninstall the app.
  • Our server does not save your AI Tutor conversations; the message counts used for the daily limit expire after about two days.
  • Feedback reports are kept until we have handled them and are deleted automatically 30 days later.
  • Records of verified Remove Ads purchases are kept for as long as the purchase is valid, so the higher AI Tutor limit keeps working if you reinstall the app.
  • Data that Google collects for ads is kept according to Google's own policies.

Your Choices and Rights

  • Ad privacy: where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and some US states), you are asked before your data is used for personalized ads, and you can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings > Ad Privacy Choices. On iPhone and iPad, you can allow or deny tracking when asked and change it later in your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, you can delete or reset your advertising ID in your device's Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Settings > Google > Ads). Buying Remove Ads stops all ads.
  • Notifications: study reminders are optional and can be turned off in the app or in your device's settings.
  • AI Tutor: optional; nothing is sent unless you use it.
  • Access and deletion: depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to its use, or to opt out of its sale or sharing. Email legal@pvtapps.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Children's Privacy

The app is intended for users of driving age (typically 15+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected here and in the app with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
